Community Involvement

Reaching out to our community through education in order to create awareness that will emphasize the value and benefits that dogs provide.

D4DV is a non profit 501(C) (3) organization and your contributions are tax deductible.  D4DV is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, transfers or other gifts.  Your donations will be used toward the care of the rescued dogs and their training. Pay Pal may be used for monetary donations using the "Donate" button.  A tax receipt for your monetary donation will be automatically e-mailed to you. We will also gladly accept donations of any items on our "Wish List" below.

Dog Socializer

Nurturing and developing rescued dogs to become service dogs is a rewarding experience, which individuals can enjoy through our Dog Socializer Program. In this unique program individuals are matched up with a service dog in-training to take home and spend time with. Dog Socializers take the dogs out into the community as service dogs in-training and into their homes for some R&R. This is an extremely important part of our program as getting the dogs out of the prison and into society where they will be performing as  service dogs could not be done without our Dog Socializers. D4DV provides the education and support needed for the care and training of the dog. If you are interested in becoming a Dog Socializer you can download an application.

Although it is our intention and hope that each dog chosen for our program will eventually be a full working service dog, in reality not every dog is able to complete service dog training. D4DV is committed to each dogs rehabilitation, obedience training and placement in a forever home. Foster homes provide temporary care for one of our well trained pet dogs until we can match them up to a forever home. If you would like to Foster one of our dogs you can download an application

Sponsors are a critical component to our success. The medical care, training equipment, food, toys, treats, crates, beds, heartworm and flea preventative for each dog is costly. If you are able to sponsor the cost of training a dog or even partially sponsor one, please click on the "Donate" button under the picture of the dog (located on the left of your screen) that you wish to sponsor. We will provide you with monthly updates and occasional pictures of your dog.
